There is some holiday magic in these bars. My Nutella-hating husband (we all have our flaws) has even polished off half a pan. They’re pretty as bars but I plan to cut the next batch into squares for my cookie trays

Total Time

Ingredients
- 1 bag marshmallows
- 1/4 C butter + extra for buttering the pan and your hands
- 6 C rice crispy cereal
- 1/3 - 1/2 C Nutella
- Green candy melts
Instructions
- Butter the short sides of a 9x13 pan
- Cut 2 pieces of parchment paper the fits into the pan with a 2 inch over lad on each long side
- Place one piece into the pan
- Melt the butter in a large pot
- Add in the marshmallows and cook over med-low heat, stirring constantly (you can take a few mini breaks to extract your child from the catnip drawer) until the marshmallows are completely melted and you don't have any lumps
- Stir in the cereal
- Transfer roughly 1/2 of the cereal into the parchment lined pan and using generously buttered hands press it out to cover the bottom of the pan. Remove the cereal using the parchment paper and set it aside (take care not to break it in half)
- Place the other sheet into the pan and add the rest of the cereal. Press it out to evenly cover the bottom of the pan
- Spread the Nutella over the cereal in the pan (Truth time: I'm not 100% sure on how much I used, I started out with a 1/4 cup but that wasn't enough and the baby was screaming so I just started scooping straight from the jar)
- Carefully flip the cereal bar you made earlier onto the Nutella and use your hand to press the two layers together
- Let the treats sit until completely cool and hardened
- Use a sharp knife to cut the cereal into 1 x 2 inch bars
- Lay the bars on a sheet of parchment and melt the candy in a small bowl in the microwave
- Use a fork to drizzle/violently shake the melted candy over the bars
- Let them sit until hardened and then serve
