Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is a holiday classic and we watch it every year. Even though the old school attitude of the dad makes me cringe… My favorite character has always been Bumble the Abominable Snowman. To be honest I barely even pay attention to the movie until he shows up. I love his toothy and then tooth-less grin when he joins the happy Christmas celebration at the end. I wanted to show him some love so I made a batch of no bake Bumble Cookies.
Happy December everyone! I’ve got my Christmas Countdown on the wall, my tubs of Christmas ornaments at the ready and I’m just waiting for my family to wake up so we can go get our tree. It was a very, very long night so it may be noon before the first emerges (someone never puts the baby down and getting her to sleep on her own has been getting worse and worse and last night I decided to start fixing it).
In October I put up a Halloween Crossword puzzle instead of my usual word search and it seemed to go over well so I’m repeating it now for Christmas. This years puzzle has the bonus of fun Christmas characters that you can color in when you get bored! I’m trying to move to printer/copier friendly decorations because I know a lot of teachers are using these.
I love Christmas and I really love Christmas Countdowns. Mostly because I never know what day it is and it’s the best way I’ve found to make sure I know when to let the holiday panic set it. You don’t want to panic too early haha. Almost all of the DIY Christmas Countdown projects I’ve seen require buying 25 of something. I don’t know about you, but I’ve got enough stuff in my house! This tree count down is a step up from the basic paper chain, and while it can be a tiny bit tedious if you’re a perfectionist it’s easy enough to throw together.
My fridge was looking a little neglected this season, we collect magnets from all the places we visit but none of them really say ‘Christmas’. Besides it was time to clear out the clutter of expired coupons and calender magnets from 3 years ago anyway. On my craft store travels I picked up three three packs of wooden ornaments from Michael’s to make these holiday magnets. My favorite is the little reindeer with his gold antlers.

There is some holiday magic in these bars. My Nutella-hating husband (we all have our flaws) has even polished off half a pan. They’re pretty as bars but I plan to cut the next batch into squares for my cookie trays [Read more…]
