When I was little I remember snow on Thanksgiving every year. Times change and even if we don’t have snow for Christmas you can guarantee that it will be cold here in Central New York (except for the year Dorothy got sick and it was in the high 50’s for New Years). There is nothing better than coming in from the barn (or sledding) to a house filled with the scent of hot mulled cider or minty hot cocoa. Almost makes you want to go back outside just so you can come back in again.
Deck the halls with yards of garlands! *Sadly the yo-yo garland tutorial in the top right of the graphic is no longer available online 🙁
We find ourselves spending a lot of time in the car, between visiting family and running errands. Mike always drives and I recently lost my ability to read in the car without getting sick so I wanted something to do. Making yo-yo’s is easy, fast and portable so it fits those needs exceptionally well. I consider it a bonus how easily you can turn them into yo-yo Christmas ornaments.
I was very excited to put some of my ‘real’ Christmas ornaments on the tree this year. I have a giant tub full that haven’t seen a tree since I moved away to college (6 years for those of you counting at home). While the 24 years of Precious Moments ornaments are still tucked safely away my somewhat sturdier trinkets are on display this year. Unfortunately that does mean I ran out of room for some of the ornaments I made last year.
