Instead of an over priced candle why not make your own home scenting gift this year? Aroma beads are small plastic balls that absorb and disperse fragrance. They’re fool proof and easy to make. You can display them in small organza bags or in these pretty mason jars with decorative lids.
Poinsettias just scream Christmas to me (it’s a nice scream, very Christmas carol-y) but our cat Rita eats houseplants so I don’t dare bring real ones into my house. Instead I buy lots and lots of fake ones. I use them to decorate the tree and last year I used them to make a pretty poinsettia wreath.
One of my favorite Christmas family traditions is setting up the Nativity scene. My grandma bought my sister and I our own sets and added lots of characters over the years (what, your nativity set doesn’t have a flock of sheep and a man playing bagpipes?).
When you walk into my home the first thing you see is a red bookshelf with a giant frame on it. During the fall I had the fingerprint tree from our wedding on display but I wanted to change it up. The frame is filled with a piece of foam core board covered in burlap so I knew what ever I added had to be light weight.
