What’s Cluckin’ 13

affiliate
Here we are at week 13! I’ll be honest, my attendance on the computer has been spotty this week. It seems like there is never enough time in the day between the animals, a full time job, planning the wedding, family and friends and blogging… One more week has passed and I haven’t made it to comment on all the link ups. I’m pretty much coming to the realization that it will never happen.
So my question to you guys is: Do you care? Do you link up to parties with the expectation that you’ll get a comment from the host? I hate leaving generic comments so it takes me a lot longer than just click + Copy + Paste. I do visit each link; I just don’t always leave a comment. What are your feelings about it?
What you might have missed this week:

We have a winner for the potholders!
The winner is Elizabeth Cavallari!
Elizabeth please email me at ChickenScratchNY {at} gmail.com with your address!

I found this buffet on the side of the road in the rain; she now lives in my living room and supports the TV

I also told you the story of my little miracle chick. I’ll post an update soon.
(Spoiler: Mama got her butt kicked back to the barn and I’m now raising all three)
The most visited link was from Ewe Creek Cottage:

I love flexible recipes, it’s no nice being able to cook with what-ever you got from the (very thirsty) garden. And you know we’ve got eggs to spare!
And our Last Link Up was from Kate Michelle Designs:

I love modern quilting, especially small projects because I can finish them before I get bored!
Congrats! You are are top of the pecking order (trust me, it’s the best place to be!)

On to the party, here are the rules:
Link up any thing craft, food, garden, farm or photo related.
Please no giveaways or shops
Link up to a single post, not your blog
Pretty please link back with a text link or button!
It doesn’t have to be on the post, just have it somewhere on your blog
Check out at least 2 other entries for everything you enter.
It’s all about the love!
You don’t have to be a follower but I’d love it!
Link up as much as you want

By linking up here you give me permission to use your photos if you’re featured on my blog and to have your post added to my feature pin board. Maybe even on my facebook page and twitter!

  1. Ooo! I cant wait for the miracle chick update 🙂 So cute!

  2. I am in the same boat .. it’s hard to keep up with everything and I think a comment every once in a while on everyone’s blog is just fine … and can’t wait for a chick update either 🙂

  3. Thanks for hosting : )

  4. While a comment from the host of a party is always a great thing, I don’t think it’s realistic to expect that. There’s simply too many blogs vying for attention for one person to give it all. I think that’s why it’s so important that we as a blogging community support each other. No one posts to a link party if they aren’t hoping for a comment on their hard work. If we all stopped and made at least one single comment on someone else’s blog, we could help cheer that person and the huge number of us would have plenty of love to go around. 🙂

That said, I also don’t see a lot of posters (the others who have commented here being the exception) who leave comments on the hostess’s page either. Often it seems to be a link and run situation. I don’t think it’s expected that you should do a favor that wasn’t returned.

  5. Thank you for hosting. Wishing you a grand rest of the week. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse

  6. I just stumbled over to your blog from a linky party – I’m your newest follower! I grew up in Upstate NY, myself, so I can’t wait to read more of your posts. 🙂

  7. Thanks for hosting!
I know what you mean about it being hard to comment on each link. It takes a lot of time to do it, and when things get busy and hectic… well… something has to give. So, no. I don’t expect a comment when I link to parties. 🙂
With mine, I use my email list from inlinkz and send a BBC email to those who have participated. I send it as a reminder for my next party AND I try to thank everyone for linking up in the past, so that is another option.

About your miracle chick… my 5 & 7 year olds are following the story, so we are looking forward to your update! They LOVE it when I am on your blog! They gather around to look at your animal pics. 🙂

  8. What an awesome find! you made that buffet look beautiful, girl!

  9. Awesome buffet, reminds me of one I had. It really turned out beautiful. Thanks for hosting the party, all linked up!

  10. You really transformed that buffet. Your headline on that post made me do a double take because you said something about road kill then the buffet, so imagined you having some poor skunk for dinner.
I do like to hear from you now and again, but I know how hard it is to keep up. Thanks for hosting.

  11. Thanks for hosting. And thanks to everyone else for peepin (pun intended) at my frittata so many times. I would have been here sooner but was without internet for 24 hours ugh. The peepers story is so awesome- Sorry u lost your silky
About the comment- don’t worry bout hittin me every time no need I don’t always comment on posts I visit
I don’t have anything to share this week my escapades in the kitchen this week weren’t for anyone elses eyes let alone their tummies- some times a girl just looses her mojo lol

  12. Thanks for hosting this great link party…super features as well…
Everyone love a comment but I’m okay with the link and runners too…everyone is busy at times but they still want to get their latest project out there. Happy weekend everyone!

  13. Hi there my friend! How are you : ) I will have to come back and enter your linky party! Ok — i am going to make you laugh — i was looking at the featured items and i saw this great buffet (the words) and i was looking at the chickens and i almost had a heart attack but then i realized it was the piece of furniture buffet!!! phew! : ) LOL!!!! Talk and see you soon! : ) hugs…

  14. Can I have your chickens? I used to live on a farm in upstate NY, but my husband got transferred down here and now…well, no chickens. I saw your comment on HouseTalkN–have fun with the stencil.
