I wish I had a super fun story about the name of my blog.
But I don’t.
I have chickens, Chicken Scratch seemed like a good name, it was also taken so I added because I was born, raised and live in New York.

See that little dot in the bottom right?
That is New York City.
I have never been there (with the exception of the airport).
There is a whole lotta state that IS NOT New York City.
Please, when you meet some one from NY don’t assume they mean NYC. There is so much more to the state thea that!
For those of you interested, I’m from central NY (or upstate to those on Long Island) we have lots of cows here. I’m done yelling!
I used to live in Upstate NY and when I moved people always assumed I was from NYC! OR that all of NY was city!! It was so annoying!
Guilty! The first time VagabondHusband told me he spent his summers and winters in New York, I automatically assumed he meant NYC. lol.
I’m guilty as well. I promise to remember this though
I adore New York State!! I drove through it a couple times on my way to NJ and was awestruck by the scenery…what a gorgeous place to live!
Totally get what you’re saying about NYC. When I lived in NJ I got so tired of people assuming that I was living in North Jersey…I lived in the South. Big difference.
Haha, I get your pain we are from Vermont and I have to tell people it’s the little state next to NY for them to know where I am talking about!
I want to live in Cooperstown!!
