Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee

(and egg yolks, but that doesn’t sound as good)
I stepped outside the dessert box and made Creme Brulee.
I used the recipe from Serious Eats
I’ve never made or had Creme Brulee before but I have to say, this was delicious.
It was creamy and cracking the top was fun!
I used eggs from my chickens and heavy cream from a local farm (I bought a gallon to make butter).
This recipe makes a. lot. of yummy.
Next time I’ll only make a 1/2 batch. It’s a simple technique that I can’t wait to play around with.
Coffee? Mint?
So many options!

A Marvelous Mess

  1. This looks absolutely delicious, and I love the fact that it’s safe for those of us with gluten issues! Great job!

  2. It looks delicious. I’ve never made Creme Brulee but have had it a few times in restaurants.

  3. I love to make creme brulee, the smell of the cream hitting the eggs is simply devine. Yours looks yummy.

  4. Creme Brulee is my absolute favorite. Anytime a restaurant has it, I get it, even if they have to plop in in a to-go for me. 🙂 I have just never made it because it seems so fussy (plus, like I need an entire batch to devour, LOL!)

Returning the follow from Happy Hour Projects – I didn’t see this linked up at Freestyle Friday yet, I hope you come back and share!!
